Can’t make it to Seattle? Graduates also have the option to attend the WSU Global Campus Commencement Ceremony virtually via Zoom on Saturday, May 16, 2026!
Items Sent by Mail
Graduates who participate virtually will receive the following items by mail prior to the ceremony:
- Diploma cover
- Program book
- Any earned honor cords or involvement cords
Be sure your mailing address is up to date in MyWSU to ensure your materials arrive on time.
Zoom Best Practices
Before joining the virtual commencement, take a moment to review these best practices. Use the sections below to learn how to set up your space, participate smoothly during the ceremony, and download WSU Zoom backgrounds.
- Check for and install any Zoom software updates. WSU-hosted Zoom meetings require the latest version to join.
- Use a wired internet connection if possible for better stability.
- Limit other internet activity on your network during the ceremony.
- Close any unnecessary applications on your device.
- Celebrate in Cougar style! Decorate your background with WSU colors, swag, or memorabilia.
- Make sure your lighting is in front of you (avoid sitting with a window behind you).
- Be patient and attentive when your name is about to be called.
- Most importantly — smile and enjoy your moment!
Choose your favorite WSU background, right-click to save it, and upload it in Zoom under Settings > Background & Effects to show your Cougar pride during the ceremony.
