Each semester, employers visit WSU’s Pullman campus to interview students for various job openings. WSU Global Campus students are eligible to participate in these interviews, and students who cannot travel to campus may be able to schedule a telephone interview or a videoconferencing interview.
To participate, you must register with Handshake, WSU’s employment resource website for students and alumni.
After you register, sign up, and are selected to be interviewed, you must contact Christie Motley at email@example.com. This is necessary in order to set up videoconferencing equipment at both WSU Pullman and your respective campus. If you live out of state, videoconferencing is not an option, but a telephone interview might be possible. (Interviews by videoconferencing or telephone are dependent on recruiters’ willingness to use this method of interviewing.)
Review the WSU ASCC Interviewing page for tips and information about how to do well in a job interview. Monster.com also has a resource they call a “Virtual Interview” where you learn the pros and cons of alternative answers to specific interview questions.
Would you like to practice your interviewing skills? Schedule an appointment with our career advisor for a mock interview (complete the Request Career Advising form). Your career advisor can give you feedback about your responses and help you prepare for commonly asked interview questions. Mock interviews may be conducted via phone or on a web-based interactive meeting site.
