Global Campus Chancellor: Coug Spirit of Resiliency

Dear Global Campus Cougs,

September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and I wanted to take some time today to talk to you about resiliency. As a member of the vibrant and diverse Cougar community, you are part of a proud tradition that values the ability to address and work to overcome adversity. In light of the challenges facing our country and the world right now, this part of the Coug Spirit has become even more important.

One vital part of being resilient is the ability to recognize when you need the help and support of people around you. You are a part of the WSU family, and you matter to us. If you feel that you need some support to help you through challenges including stress, depression, or other issues related to your emotional and mental well-being, I highly encourage you to take advantage of the mental health resources identified by ASWSU Global. ASWSU Global also has a mental health reimbursement program available to Global Campus students. I also encourage you to reach out and confide in your family, friends, and fellow Cougs. You are not alone.
