U.S. News ranks WSU Global Campus among nation’s best online degrees

PULLMAN, Wash. – U.S. News & World Report announced today that five Washington State University online programs have been ranked among the best in the nation for 2021.
The university’s Global Campus ranked 28th nationally for its undergraduate degrees in the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs category, while its undergraduate business and psychology programs ranked 3rd and 8th, respectively. WSU’s online MBA program through the Carson College of Business ranked 20th among the nation’s Best Online MBA Programs, and the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture’s online graduate engineering programs ranked 25th in the Best Online Engineering Programs category.
“We are tremendously proud of how we ranked this year, especially with the new recognition our undergraduate business and psychology programs have received,” said Dave Cillay, WSU Global Campus chancellor. “Such high rankings are clear evidence of the hard work and ingenuity of our faculty, staff, and students here at WSU Global Campus.”
Two WSU programs were also named among the nation’s best for veterans. The online MBA ranked 13th in Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans and the online undergraduate programs ranked 17th in Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans.
“WSU and the Carson College of Business remain committed to investing in military-affiliated students,” said Matt Beer, the college’s military and veteran affairs manager. “Through academic excellence, professional development, and building strong community among veterans, we continue to support those who serve as they reach for their professional goals.”
In engineering, WSU was the only university in Washington State to rank in the top 25 of U.S. News’ Best Online Master’s Engineering Programs.
“We’re really proud of the work of our online degree programs, Engineering and Technology Management (ETM) and Electrical Power Engineering,” said Mary Rezac, dean of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture. “These programs provide critical access to education for industry professionals throughout the state and around the world, truly helping us fulfill our land-grant mission.”
WSU’s Global Campus offers 21 undergraduate and 13 graduate degrees in many disciplines, as well as numerous minors and certificates.
“We enable students across the globe to acquire the necessary tools, skills and behaviors for leadership success,” said Cheryl Oliver, associate dean of graduate and online programs for the Carson College of Business. “We are glad to see our efforts recognized and continue to seek meaningful input from our alumni, students and employers to ensure we remain market forward and continuously improve our program offerings.”
To calculate rankings for online bachelor’s programs, the magazine evaluated data collected from 357 schools in four categories: engagement, student services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and expert opinion. New this year, they also ranked 145 undergraduate business programs and 27 undergraduate psychology programs. To evaluate the nations’ 324 online MBA and 105 online graduate engineering programs, the magazine used five categories: engagement, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and student services and technologies.
