Spotlight on Student Support Services as the 2019 Fall Semester Begins

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year at WSU Global Campus! As fall semester 2019 begins, we’re highlighting some of the student support programs and services Global Campus provides to improve the experience of our online students. Whether this is your first semester, or you’ve been with us for a while, don’t hesitate to take advantage of one or more of these programs and services:

Free eTutoring

As an online student, you have access to tutoring services, 100% online. Global Campus is a member of the Western eTutoring Consortium, which provides unlimited FREE online tutoring in many subject areas. For more information, visit our eTutoring webpage.

Free Career Advising  

WSU Global Campus offers FREE career advising to all online students. Whether you are interested in exploring career paths or already have a career in mind and just want to learn how to get there, Chris Miller, our dedicated career advisor, is here to help. Global Connections

Global Connections brings engaging co- and extra-curricular events to Global Campus students—free and online. Through Global Connections you can connect with peers and expert presenters via webinars and live-streamed events, and participate in academic contests and activities. The Global Connections Video Vault also gives you access to an archive of past Global Connections webinars and live-streamed events, allowing you to enjoy them at your convenience.

Global Campus Student Government

ASWSU Global, Global Campus’ student government, gives you more opportunities to engage with your fellow online students and get the most out of your online learning experience. You can run for student government, attend in-person ASWSU Global events, and enjoy other opportunities to get involved. ASWSU also offers financial reimbursements to qualifying Global Campus students for travel, technology needs, child care, and more.

Wellbeing Online

WSU’s Wellbeing Online website is dedicated to helping you develop skills that foster a happy, balanced life by taking a holistic approach to healthy living.  The program provides opportunities to learn about all 8 dimensions of wellbeing to help you identify multiple ways to improve your personal wellbeing. Wellbeing Online also offer the Cyber Coug Fitness Club Gym Reimbursement Program! As part of this program, global campus students can submit receipts for membership to their local gym and complete healthy habits to earn up to $100 each semester!

Virtual Mentors

Is online learning a new experience for you? Our team of Virtual Mentors (VMs) are here to help. VMs are available in select courses to help you successfully navigate online course space, troubleshoot IT issues, share study tips, encourage student discussion, and more. Check your discussion boards to find out if a VM is available in any of your courses, and if not, visit the VM webpage to connect with VM resources.

Library Services

As a Global Campus student, you have access to a full range of library services which provide access to over 3.5 million books, journals, documents, newspapers and more. This includes FREE delivery of physical WSU library books as well as access to online databases and assistance from the distance learning librarian, Erica England.

Tech Support

Having tech issues? WSU offers 24/7 Tech Support for our innovative learning platforms. If you have an issue, you can simply contact our Tech Support team by phone or email—at any time of day, on any day of the week—and they’ll be there to help. 

Access Center

It’s our goal to make online learning as accessible as possible. Global Campus and the WSU Access Center work together to provide accommodations for students with disabilities.

Military and Veterans Support

WSU Global Campus values the service all active duty military, reservists, veterans and their families! We’re here to help you use your military experience as transfer credit, take advantage of financial benefits, and more. GIESORC

WSU’s Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC) promotes education, empowerment, and engagement for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally (LGBTQ+) constituents across the Washington State University system.

Cougar Card

Even as an online student, you can become a card-carrying Coug! You can order a Cougar Card, WSU’s student ID. Your Cougar Card identifies you as a WSU student and gives you access to great perks like student discounts.
