Global Campus Chancellor: Veteran’s Day

Dear Global Campus Cougs,

On Veteran’s Day, let us all take a moment to recognize the veterans, active-duty military, guard members, reservists, and their family members who are Global Campus students. This group makes up a significant percentage of our online campus community. Military spouses and family members who sacrifice much so their loved ones can serve are also a large part of our Global Campus family.

These students share their unique perspectives and vibrant life experiences whenever they interact with fellow students and faculty members, bringing incalculable value to the academic experience received by all Global Campus students. Today, I want to thank you for your selfless service to our country and your countless contributions to our learning community.

I also want to remind military-affiliated students that WSU has many resources to help you along your academic journey. WSU Pullman’s Veteran’s Affairs Office provides help to Global Campus students with veteran’s benefits and related issues. WSU also has a Vet Corps Navigator, a current student and military veteran, who can mentor and support other veteran and military students, providing assistance with their transition to academic life.

You can learn more about the veterans support available to Global Campus students on our Military and Veterans information web page. We are also holding a webinar on Dec. 2 concerning the use of military benefits at WSU. If you have any questions about using your benefits, I highly encourage you to attend.

Again, thank you all for your service, and GO COUGS!
