Acceptance to the University is valid only for the semester for which you apply.

The application process varies slightly depending on your age and status. For example, the procedure for a freshman is different from that for a transfer student.

The application fee is $50 for freshman and transfer applicants, and $25 for former WSU students. The fee is nonrefundable, so please contact Joy Thompson at online.admissions@wsu.edu or 800-222-4978, option 4, if you have any questions about which form to use.

  • Freshman: 24 and younger.

    Use this application if you will graduate from high school this academic year or if you have already graduated but haven’t been enrolled in college after the summer following your high school graduation. Running Start students or students who have completed college coursework while in high school are considered freshmen for admission purposes.

    • Once a decision has been made regarding your application, we will notify you.
  • Adult student: 25 and older, less than a full year of college work.

    Use this application if you'll be 25 or older on your first day of classes at WSU and you have less than a full year of college work to transfer.

    • Once a decision has been made regarding your application, we will notify you.
  • Transfer student:

    Use this application if you:

    • Have attended college since graduating from high school, not including the summer immediately following high school graduation. (If all your college work was done in high school, use the freshman application.)
    • Have never enrolled on any WSU campus.

  • International student

    Use this application if you’re not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and you want earn your degree online or take courses for personal enrichment or to transfer to another institution.

    • Once a decision has been made regarding your application, we will notify you.
  • Former student

    Use this application if you were previously enrolled at any Washington State University campus and you were absent for more than one semester (excluding summer), you are considered a former student. If you were not in good academic standing your last semester at WSU, you may need to be reinstated.

    If you've been absent for only one semester, you don't need to reapply. Contact your WSU Online academic consultant to plan your next steps. If you’re coming from a different campus, please select the Change of Campus category, below.

    Note: A second business or hospitality business major is not available to WSU business majors and graduates.

  • Post-bachelors

    Use this application if you are a graduate of an accredited college or university other than WSU and are seeking another undergraduate degree.

    • Once a decision has been made regarding your application, we will notify you.
  • Change of Campus

    Complete this form to permanently change your enrollment to a different WSU campus.

    What happens next?

    • The campus you apply to will review the information you submitted and contact you.
