About Us
ASWSUG was founded in 1998 — before distance learning had evolved into the online format that it is currently (at the time, most distance learning was done by mail!). As such, it was the first student government in the country that was created to help provide representation for students earning their degree from a distance.
Distance learning has changed since then, and so has ASWSUG. After careful consideration and planning throughout the 2019-2020 academic year, ASWSUG was restructured to provide the events, leadership opportunities, resources, services, and advocacy that Global Campus students have identified as their top priorities.
ASWSUG migrated in the 2020-2021 academic year from a traditional student government to an executive board with seven paid board members specializing in their respective areas of expertise, along with three specialized committees.
Meet Your ASWSUG Executive Board
Hannah Kramer (she/her/hers)
Major: Psychology; English Rhetoric and Professional Writing
Expected Graduation: Spring 2026
Current City: Newport, WA
Contact: global.pres@wsu.edu
Hi, Cougs! My name is Hannah Kramer, and I am honored to serve as your ASWSUG President this year. I came to the ASWSUG because I believe college isn’t just about earning a degree: it’s about growth, resilience, and belonging. Because of that belief, I’m here to bridge your ideas and the changes you want to see on campus. My role isn’t just about answering questions or offering guidance, but about helping you realize your potential and amplifying the unique voices that make WSU special. Every Cougar’s voice matters, and together we can shape a stronger, more connected community.
I’m a senior double-majoring in psychology and English, with a deep love for stories: how they connect us, challenge us, and help us grow. I transferred to WSU from Everett Community College, and I know how hard it can be to find your footing in a new space. That experience drives me to help others find fellowship in their academic communities, especially in an online or nontraditional setting. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I recharge by swimming in open water, writing short fiction, and watching films that explore life’s raw and beautiful complexities. I’m also a big fan of sunshine, Dr. Pepper, and spontaneous creative projects such as song writing. Outside of school, you’d likely find me outside doing any of the above with my husband and our goldendoodle, Ezra. Whether you’re passionate about student advocacy, looking to get involved, or just want to share your experience, I’m here for you. Here’s to a year full of purpose, creativity, and connection.
GO COUGS!

Greetings, Cougs! I’m Rikki Butler-Marsh, and I’m honored to serve as the Vice President for ASWSUG this 2025-2026 Academic Year. After a rewarding year as the Director of Communication and Compliance, I’m excited to step into a leadership role that allows me to continue advocating for student engagement, equity, and transparency.
I’m currently a Social Science major at WSU Global with concentrations in psychology, communication, and human development. I love exploring how people think, connect, and grow—and I try to bring that same curiosity and compassion into everything I do.
Outside of work, school and student government, I’m happiest when I’m camping with my family, catching live concerts, or curled up at home with my two rescue kittens. Additionally, I’m very passionate about animal advocacy and am always looking for meaningful ways to support rescue efforts.
I’m looking forward to another year of collaboration, creativity, and connection with our incredible Global Campus community. I truly care about making WSU Global feel like a place where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Let’s make it a great year!

Hassana Alnajjar(she/her/hers)
Major: Marketing and Management – Dual Bachelor’s Degree
Expected Graduation: Summer 2026
Current City: Vancouver, Washington
Contact: global.comm@wsu.edu
My name is Hassana Alnajjar, and I’m excited to serve as the ASWSUG Director of Communication and Compliance within the WSU Global Campus community! I’m currently pursuing a double major bachelor’s degree in marketing and management and love finding creative and strategic ways to connect people, ideas, and opportunities.
I was born in Damascus, Syria and have been living in Vancouver, Washington for the past 13 years. I speak three languages: Arabic, French, and English, and enjoy supporting students with language assistance whenever I can. I’m passionate about leadership, accessibility, and inclusion. I’ve been involved in student government for several years and currently hold leadership positions at both WSU and Clark College. Through these roles, I’ve learned the value of teamwork, advocacy, and showing up for the student community in meaningful ways.
Outside of academics and student leadership, I’m a digital artist with over five years of experience. I run a small art business where I take commissions and use my creativity to tell stories through visual expression. As a wheelchair user, I’m also a strong advocate for disability visibility and work to create spaces where all students feel represented and supported when I can. I’m truly looking forward to what this year holds and can’t wait to connect with you all. Go Cougs!

Moana Acosta (she/her/hers)
Major: Human Development Major with a concentration on Lifespan Development & Double Minor in Sociology and Anthropology
Expected Graduation: Spring 2028
Current City: Lacey, WA
Contact: global.outreach@wsu.edu
Hey there, Global Cougs! My name is Moana, and I’m excited to serve on the ASWSUG executive board this year as a Student Director. As a military spouse originally from Maryland, I’ve had the unique opportunity to call many places home throughout my adult life. My journey has taken me through Colorado and North Carolina before settling here in Washington. Through this experience, I’ve learned just how critical it is to have a strong support system, which is something I know many of my Global Campus peers can also relate to.
Non-profit work is my jam, and I have such a soft spot for it. I dedicate a significant portion of my free time to philanthropy, community outreach, and advocacy for causes that are close to my heart, as well as those of my friends and family. When I take time for myself, you’ll find me reading a book, playing The Sims, gardening, or crafting. I also enjoy getting outside and being near the water. Fun Fact: Moana means ‘ocean,’ and finding peace there rings true in my life.
I look forward to bringing my experiences and enthusiasm to the board, and I’m ready to make a difference with all of you!

Adela Kongdara (she/her/hers)
Major: Accounting
Expected Graduation: Spring 2026
Current City: Pasco, WA
Contact: global.finance@wsu.edu
Hi there! My name is Adela Kongdara, and I am thrilled to be your Director of Finance for the 2025 – 2026 term! After completing my AA degree at Columbia Basin College, I am now pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in accounting at WSU Global.
Last term, I had the pleasure of serving as the Director of Promotions, where I learned a lot about connecting with our WSU Global community and the importance of clear communication and teamwork. I am excited to be able to bring those experiences into my new role.
When I am not studying, I enjoy playing online games with friends, binge-watching TV shows and movies, and exploring new places to eat and drink. I’m someone who is open to new experiences and stepping outside my comfort zone because that’s where the best growth and sometimes friendships happen!
As your Director of Finance, I am dedicated to managing our student funds carefully and transparently so we can support enjoyable events, valuable programs, and helpful reimbursements that support our WSU Global community. I originally joined ASWSUG to meet my fellow WSU Global Cougs, so please feel free to reach out!

Alexiis McLean (she/her/hers)
Major: Management
Expected Graduation: Spring 2029
Current City: Western Washington
Contact: global.dola@wsu.edu
Hello, fellow Cougs! My name is Alexiis McLean, and I am honored to serve as your 2025-2026 Director of Legislative Affairs (DOLA) for WSU Global. It is a privilege to represent our student community, advocate for meaningful change, and ensure that your voices are heard. Returning to the classroom after 14 years was the right decision for me, and like many of you, we bring a unique journey to WSU Global. No matter our individual paths, we all share the commitment to pursuing our dreams through Washington State University and chose Global as our campus!
I am eager to provide a path for students to have a voice and advocate for real issues. Be your voice. A massive part of DOLA is preparing for Coug Day, where we use our voices in Olympia, WA, and speak with elected representatives on matters that support our community. This annual event is a valuable chance to connect with policymakers, learn about legislative processes, and contribute to conversations that shape our academic and professional futures.
Currently, I live in Western Washington and work in administration at a rocket propulsion company, where I support aerospace programs and operations. I am deeply passionate about women in STEM and am pursuing a degree in Management, with aspirations to become a Program Manager within my organization. Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy walking the rocky beaches of Washington with my yellow lab, Luna, as well as practicing yoga, rock climbing, and reading. I also have a profound love for dinosaurs, so if you ever want to chat about rockets or prehistoric creatures, I am always happy to share the excitement!
Please feel free to reach out, I am always eager to hear your perspectives, collaborate, and amplify the voices of our student community. Wishing you all a fantastic school year, and I look forward to seeing you at Coug Day 2026!

Sarah Orosco (she/her/hers)
Major: Data Analytics with a concentration in Business and a minor in Mathematics
Expected Graduation: Spring 2026
Current City: Bremerton, WA
Contact: global.promotions@wsu.edu
Hi, Global Cougs! My name is Sarah Orosco, and I’m thrilled to serve as your Director of Promotions for the 2025–2026 school year. I attended WSU Pullman for two years before taking a break from school. After changing my career path and completing my second associate degree at Olympic College, I was ready to return to WSU. WSU Global was the perfect fit for my life as a working student and single mom. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school and earn my Master of Science. I’m so very excited to be back in the Cougar community!
Outside of school and work, I enjoy exploring the beautiful PNW—my favorite moments are the ones spent with my son as we discover and learn new things together. I also love relaxing online with friends, whether that’s playing games or watching movies. Music is another big passion of mine, and I find so much inspiration in the energy of a great live concert.
What has always inspired me about WSU is the strong sense of community and connection that stretches across every campus. The “Coug family” is more than a phrase—it truly feels like you’ve made friends for life. As your Director of Promotions, I’m excited to carry that spirit forward and continue building connections across the Global Campus through social media and student engagement.
Go Cougs!
