Formal Minors

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MINOR
Note: Students who wish to pursue a business administration minor must be pursuing a major outside the Carson College of Business. If you are a certified business major, you may earn a minor in Hospitality Business Management.

Business Administration Minor Certification Requirements:

Before enrolling in WSU courses which fulfill this minor, students must apply for certification to this minor. To be eligible for certification into a Carson College of Business minor, students must meet the following requirements:
  • Be certified in a major.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Have earned at least 60 credit hours.

The minor in business administration requires a minimum of 18 credits of coursework, including:
  • 9 credits of upper-division College of Business courses (excluding 498 and 499 courses).
  • 6 credits of College of Business courses at any level.
  • Students must maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.5 in the business administration minor courses.
  • A minimum of 9 credits of upper-division coursework must be taken in residence at WSU.
  • Up to 6 credits may be transferred from another institution.

All courses are 3 credits, unless noted.

  • Required:
    • ACCTG 230
  • Choose additional Carson College of Business courses to meet the 18 semester hour requirement. Acceptable courses can be from the following disciplines:
    • Accounting (ACCTG)
    • Entrepreneurship (ENTRP)
    • Finance (FIN)
    • International Business (I_BUS)
    • Management (MGMT)
    • Management and Operations (MGTOP)
    • Management Information Systems (MIS)
    • Marketing (MKTG)
