All WSU campuses use the same FAFSA school code: 003800&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wsu-row  wsu-color-background--white wsu-row--single\" >\r\n    \n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n<div class=\"wsu-accordion\">\r\n    <h3 id=\"unique-id-1__17754\" class=\"wsu-accordion__title\">\r\n        <button class=\"wsu-accordion__title-button wsu-accordion--toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"unique-id-1__content\">How Financial Aid Works\u00a0<\/button>\r\n    <\/h3>\r\n    <div id=\"unique-id-1__content\" class=\"wsu-accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"unique-id-1__17754\">\r\n        <div class=\"wsu-accordion__content-inner\">\r\n            \n\n<ul>\n<li>Financial aid is generally split between fall and spring semesters. If a student starts spring, they will receive a semester worth of eligibility for spring only.&nbsp; Summer is a separate financial aid award.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students need to accept loans, grants are automatically accepted for students. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full time students and part time students who are only receiving loans, will have aid disburse a week before classes start. Students who are part time at disbursement with grants, will receive their funding after the 10th day of classes so their grants can be prorated or adjusted to reflect their actual enrollment.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial aid automatically goes to pay off tuition and fees first.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students are encouraged to set up <a href=\"https:\/\/bursar.wsu.edu\/direct-deposit\/\">Direct Deposit<\/a> and to <a href=\"https:\/\/financialaid.wsu.edu\/finaid-quick-guide\/#:~:text=How%20to%20Apply,Click%20%E2%80%9CSubmit%E2%80%9D\">Grant Permissions<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refunds are sent out after tuition has been paid. If you are adding and dropping classes while financial aid is disbursing, or after financial aid has disbursed, it will be important to monitor your account.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial aid only pays for one semester at a time. The first step, is to complete the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/futurecoug.wsu.edu\/portal\/scholarships\" target=\"_blank\">General Scholarship Application<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Priority Deadline is January 31<sup>st<\/sup><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global Scholarship Deadline July 1<sup>st<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be wondering, \u201cWhy are there two deadlines?\u201d The first deadline allows you to meet the deadline to be considered for all WSU scholarships. The second deadline applies specifically to WSU Global scholarships. To maximize your opportunities, you should apply by January 31<sup>st<\/sup>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global Campus Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Finish Line Award<\/strong>: Students who are coming back to school and have less than one year left, may be eligible for Global Campus funding. This award is automatically awarded to eligible students.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Esports Scholarship<\/strong>: Members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/connections.wsu.edu\/global-campus-esports\/global-campus-esports-team\/\">Global Campus Varsity Esports Team<\/a> are eligible for a $2500 scholarship. Three members will be selected each year for this award.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Departmental Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/alumni.wsu.edu\/s\/1613\/18\/interior.aspx?sid=1613&amp;gid=2&amp;pgid=529\"><strong>Alumni Association<\/strong><\/a>: Awards scholarship to new and continuing students&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/cahnrs.wsu.edu\/academics\/scholarships\/\"><strong>Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resources<\/strong><\/a>: Awards scholarships to students in all of its 20+ majors&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/cas.wsu.edu\/scholarships\/index.html\"><strong>Arts and Sciences<\/strong><\/a>: Offers merit &#8211; and need-based awards to students at all stages in their education. Many awards are renewable for second academic year, but the criteria varies&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/business.wsu.edu\/next-carson-coug\/scholarships\/\"><strong>Business<\/strong><\/a>: Available to students who have certified a major in the Carson College of Business or who have a strong interest in business&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/murrow.wsu.edu\/student-work\/student-services-lobby\/scholarships-awards\/\"><strong>Communication<\/strong><\/a>: The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication awards scholarships to students interested in broadcasting, journalism, public relations, and general communications&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/education.wsu.edu\/scholarships\/\"><strong>Education<\/strong><\/a>: Undergraduate and graduate students who are certified into a major in the College of Education are eligible for scholarships&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vcea.wsu.edu\/scholarships\/\"><strong>Engineering and Architecture<\/strong><\/a>: Scholarships from the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture for students working toward a degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wsu-accordion\">\r\n    <h3 id=\"unique-id-1__38172\" class=\"wsu-accordion__title\">\r\n        <button class=\"wsu-accordion__title-button wsu-accordion--toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"unique-id-1__content\">Stay Eligible for Financial Aid\u00a0<\/button>\r\n    <\/h3>\r\n    <div id=\"unique-id-1__content\" class=\"wsu-accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"unique-id-1__38172\">\r\n        <div class=\"wsu-accordion__content-inner\">\r\n            \n\n<p><strong>Lifetime Limits<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lifetime aid summary tool is available for current students and alumni of WSU. The lifetime aid summary will allow students to view their current loan amounts, their federal loan limit, remaining loan eligibility, estimated monthly payments and their current Pell usage.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/my.wsu.edu\/\">myWSU<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the financial aid tile.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have selected a Federal Aid Year, click on the drop-down menu on the right side of display.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on \u201cLifetime Aid Summary\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can run out of financial aid depending on how much they borrow and how long they are in school. The financial aid office is always available to chat with students to determine how much aid they have remaining.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u202faccept financial aid, you accept responsibility for making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). This progress is based on the number of credits you complete, your cumulative GPA, and the total number of credits you have attempted at WSU or at another institution.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note:<strong>\u202fAcademic Reinstatement<\/strong> to the university is not the same as Reinstatement of Financial Aid.
