They might be more important than you think. Everything from capitalization to that extra comma gets noticed\u2014and creates an impression. According to the results of a survey by Accountemps, slightly more than one-third of executives surveyed cited typos or grammatical errors as the most common mistake on resumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national poll included responses from 150 senior executives\u2014including those from human resources, finance, and marketing departments\u2014with the nation&#8217;s 1,000 largest companies. Executives were asked, &#8220;In your opinion, which of the following is the single most common mistake job seekers make on their resumes?&#8221; Their responses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Typos or grammatical errors\u201434 percent<\/li><li>Including too much information\u201422 percent<\/li><li>Not listing achievements in former roles\u201417 percent<\/li><li>Poor layout and\/or design\u201417 percent<\/li><li>Including too little information\u20147 percent<\/li><li>Other\/don&#8217;t know\u20143 percent<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to avoid these mistakes?
