Your advisor helps you plan your path to a degree. This includes choosing individual courses, meeting university requirements, and navigating through any issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your academic advisor can also help you with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Reinstatements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Course petitions and evaluations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revising your academic plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For other questions, please contact Global Campus&#8217;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/online.wsu.edu\/currentstudent\/student-support\/\">student support team<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are advising holds?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Advising holds prevent you from registering. To get them lifted, new students must first complete a quick orientation course. Before every semester, all students must also discuss their courses with their academic advisor\u2014usually by email or phone call\u2014before being allowed to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to have your advising hold lifted:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New students must first complete the orientation course:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow the instructions in your orientation email to access the Global Campus orientation course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have completed the orientation, call 800-222-4978 to schedule your first session with your academic advisor. At this session, you\u2019ll discuss which courses best meet your goals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your academic advisor will then remove your advising hold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can register for courses during your assigned registration time. To find out when you can register, go to your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/my.wsu.edu\/\">myWSU<\/a> Manage Classes tile and select the Enrollment Dates section. Your registration date will be listed there. <a href=\"https:\/\/online.wsu.edu\/currentstudent\/registration\/how-to-register-fluid\/\">How to Register<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Returning students follow this procedure:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Find out when you can register. Go to your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/my.wsu.edu\/\">myWSU<\/a> Manage Classes tile and select the Enrollment Dates section. Your registration date will be listed there.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before your registration date, consider your degree plan and what courses you would like to take.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shop for courses in myWSU, and add them to your shopping cart.
