The Food Science Certificate Program offers a comprehensive and flexible learning experience. This program is offered in two series: Certificate of Proficiency in Food Science and Certificate of Food Safety. Each series consists of five non-credit courses designed for individuals who are working in the food industry, considering a career in food science, or simply curious about food.

  • Courses are delivered entirely online and on-demand* (go at your own pace).
  • Course content can be accessed 24/7 via the internet and do not need to be taken in order.
  • Each course may be completed in 10-15 hours, if desired.
  • Participants receive a certificate for completing each course and for each series.

*Participants may register for any course (except FS 102) at any time and complete each course at their own pace; these courses will not have a start or end date. FS 102 is the only course that has scheduled Zoom sessions to meet the required 20 hours of food safety training. See Course Descriptions and Registration for more details.

Course fees are $535 each.
