What skills does online learning require?
WSU Online lets you study when and where you want. With that freedom comes the responsibility to schedule your time wisely. Many courses have virtual mentors that will help you stay on track but, in the end, you’ll need to be good at organizing your time.
Do I need to enroll at Washington State University to earn a certificate?
Yes. You must first be admitted to the University.
If I want only the certificate, and not a degree, do I need previous college credits to be admitted?
Non-degree-seeking applicants don’t need previous credits, official transcripts or a minimum GPA. The application fee is $25.

Are the courses completely online?
Yes. You can complete your certificate from anywhere you have an Internet connection.
Do I have to be online at specific times?
Rarely. In a few courses, a professor may ask students to log on at a certain time. The professor will work with students to schedule a convenient time.

How much will it cost?
Online students generally pay the same tuition as on-campus students. Current tuition rates are here.
How do I take exams?
Most exams are unsupervised and can be taken wherever you like. A few require supervision of a proctor, such as at a library or community college, or by using an online exam proctoring service.
