Proctored Exams

What are proctored exams?

Proctored exams are exams supervised by an eligible proctor. Check your course syllabus to see if the exams for your course require a proctor, and if so, what type of proctor is acceptable. Most proctors charge a fee.

Who can proctor exams?

Your syllabus will indicate exam requirements and acceptable proctoring methods.

There are three ways in which exams are proctored:

  • Online exams taken in Blackboard Learn, proctored by an online third party proctoring service (Examity)
  • Online exams taken in Blackboard Learn, proctored by an approved on-site (in-person) proctor
  • Paper exams administered by an approved on-site (in-person) proctor
