Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

This Boeing Speaker Series session will discuss the importance of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace by sharing personal lessons learned along a career journey while living and working in four countries, nine cities, at multiple companies, and on lots of airplanes.

Speaker Bio: Sue Paish is the Vice President of Mechanical Structural Engineering for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and is responsible for strengthening the mechanical structural engineering capabilities, implementing new strategies, and overseeing engineering functional excellence across all programs in BDS. Sue also leads the BDS Engineering Design Centers in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Washington and the southern U.S. (Alabama, Florida, and Texas). Previously, Sue was the Chief Engineer for Boeing Global Services and earlier, Chief Project Engineer for all heritage Boeing and McDonnell Douglas out-of-production commercial airplanes.

She has also held a variety of other Engineering leadership positions in Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). Sue has worked at all three BCA Engineering Design Centers in Washington, South Carolina, and California. Before joining Boeing in 2004, Sue was a mechanical engineer supporting airplane programs for Dornier, Bombardier, and a Rolls-Royce subsidiary. Sue graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
