ASWSU-Online Cougs' Rendezvous in Tacoma - Saturday, March 24

WSU Online and ASWSU-Online invite students, their families and guests to participate in Rendezvous 2012! Events include academic seminars, a resource fair, museum tours, a photo booth, and a hosted continental breakfast and lunch, all at the Courtyard by Marriott. Attendees will have the chance to mingle with fellow students, meet face-to-face with their academic consultant, receive career counseling, and meet Butch T. Cougar. New this year is a teddy bear drive. WSU students have teamed up with Fish Food Banks of Pierce County to collect the bears from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Saturday. At 2:30, students can help deliver the bears to a food bank, tour the facility, and pitch in by doing 90 minutes of community service. Please bring a new or gently used teddy bear to donate.

Rendezvous Schedule:

  • 8:00 a.m. - Check in and free continental breakfast, ASWSU-Online election polling stations open, resource fair begins
  • 8:15 a.m. - Morning welcome message, information about museum tours
  • 9:00 a.m. - Morning academic seminar begins
  • 11:00 a.m. - Student government election polling stations open, resource fair begins
  • 12:00 p.m. - Lunch with guest speakers and door prizes
  • 1:30 p.m. - Afternoon academic seminars begin
  • 2:30 p.m. - Polling stations close, resource fair ends
  • 5:30 p.m. - Social time at the Harmon Brewery & Eatery

Accommodations: If you'd like to reserve a room at the Courtyard by Marriott, please call 253-591-9100, and mention the WSU Online Block for a reduced room rate. The reduced rate offer ends on Friday, March 2.

Face-to-Face Academic Seminars in Tacoma - Saturday, March 24

Here’s a quick way to advance toward your degree: WSU instructors are offering one-credit seminars during the Rendezvous, at the University of Washington Tacoma campus. Check the schedule below for course descriptions and times.

Tuition: Tuition for each seminar is $394 for residents and non-residents, and is charged in addition to the regular fee, regardless of full or part time tuition status. You may request financial aid to cover the cost by selecting the Special Fees option on the Academic Year Revision Request Form.

Registration: First, check your Academic Progress Report (APR) to determine if you need any one credit general electives. Then ask your Academic Consultant to enroll you in the course.
