The number of mainstream teachers trained to deal with the special needs and problems of non-native English speakers has not kept pace with the growing number and diversity of language minority students in Washington state schools. Through online courses, WSU's College of Education is providing an opportunity for K-12 in-service teachers to complete their English Language Learners (ELL) endorsements to meet this critical need.
