Career CenterJob Search Strategies: How to Find a Job! |
First, you’ll need to prepare an effective resume and cover letter
Then, use the following resources to start searching!
- A Job Search Strategy group can help get you started. These groups allow students with similar career interests to share resources and discuss their experiences throughout the process. They provide a great way to get support and stay motivated! Contact the DDP Career Counselor at CareersForDDP@wsu.edu or 800-222-4978 to register for a group.
- Participate in On-Campus Interviewing.
- Register for WSU Career Services’ CareerLink
- Search for employment opportunities based on industry and job category on the WSU Career Services’ Post-Graduation Jobs
- Need experience through an internship? Find internships on the WSU Career Services’ Internship Listings
- Attend a career fair! Go to JobWeb.com and search for the career fairs occurring in your state. Also check out the Career Fairs listed on the Career Services web page under "Career Fairs and Events." Some are even virtual!
- To find employers for particular occupations by city/state, go to America's Career InfoNet, click on any of the links in the box labeled "Career Information," click on "Employers" in the "Jobs and Employers" section. Here you can specify a location and a specific job title to identify some employers and their addresses in a specific city/town.
- Don’t forget to network
