Career CenterJob Interviews On-Campus |
Each semester, employers visit WSU’s Pullman campus to interview students for various job openings. Distance Degree Program students are eligible to participate in these interviews, and students who cannot travel to campus may be able to schedule a telephone interview or a videoconferencing interview.
To participate, you must register with WSU CareerLink.
After you register, sign up, and are selected to be interviewed, you must contact Christie Motley at carserv@mail.wsu.edu. This is necessary in order to set up videoconferencing equipment at both WSU Pullman and your respective Branch Campus or Learning Center. If you live out of state, videoconferencing is not an option, but a telephone interview might be possible. (Interviews by videoconferencing or telephone are dependent on recruiters' willingness to use this method of interviewing.)
Interviewing Resources
Review the WSU Career Services interviewing section for tips and information about how to do well in a job interview. Monster.com also has a resource they call a "Virtual Interview" (http://interview.monster.com) where you learn the pros and cons of alternative answers to specific interview questions.
You can also download the WSU Career Services Interviewing packet.
Mock Interviews
Would you like to practice your interviewing skills? Schedule an appointment with your DDP career counselor for a mock interview (e-mail CareersForDDP@wsu.edu or call 800-222-4978). Your DDP career counselor can give you feedback about your responses and help you prepare for commonly asked interview questions. Mock interviews may be conducted via phone or on a web-based interactive meeting site.
