Application for Graduation

Once you have completed 90 credits, we will send you an application for graduation. Complete and return this document right away—WSU requires a minimum of two semesters to process your application prior to your desired graduation date. To request an application, contact the DDP Academic Advising Assistant at distance@wsu.edu or 800-222-4978. The graduation date is something that you determine—you may elect to graduate at the end of fall, spring, or summer semester.

See WSU’s Senior e-Guide for more information

Completing the graduation application initiates an audit of your degree using the “Degree Audit Reporting System,” otherwise known as “DARS.” After applying for graduation, you can run a DARS report at anytime to monitor your progress.

To view your degree audit:

This official to-do list should list all of your transfer courses and completed WSU courses, along with grades, total credits earned, and the courses you have in progress. Check your degree audit over carefully and compare it to your academic progress reports. Both reports contain basically the same information, but are formatted differently.

As changes to your WSU academic record occur, they will be recorded on the university transcript system and DARS will report that to you. If you see any discrepancies or have any questions, contact your advisor.

You will receive a copy of your final to-do list during your last semester. At that point, you should be enrolled in the courses DARS says you still need. If DARS lists a course you are not enrolled in, contact your advisor immediately.

If you find that you need more time to complete your degree, changing your date of graduation is no problem! Simply contact the advising assistant and we will complete the appropriate paperwork.

Commencement Activities

Commencement ceremonies are held at the end of spring and fall semesters. Commencement is an exciting time—we strongly encourage you to make plans to visit Pullman to join the festivities. It is an experience that many DDP students say they’ll never forget. If you do plan on attending, be sure to book hotel accommodations early. Hotel rooms book up fast in Pullman—often up to a year in advance.

For more information about commencement, visit the Events Center or contact the DDP advising coordinator at 800-222-4978.
